Anyone can rock but DJ Tom Paine plays authentic music that rolls!   You will be delighted with an eclectic mix of deep soul, jazz, world/roots music, early country and everything real that rocks!

A show where anything can happen!  There will be a lot of Byrds-related stuff, Paisley Underground, deep soul, jazz, and world/roots music. Expect a fair spread of early Jamaican stuff, and also lots of very noisy guitars. Expect a  lot of Professor Longhair, Huey Smith, Dr John, and The Meters. Anyone can rock but DJ Tom Paine is interested in authentic music that rolls!

You’ll hear authentic country going back to 1927,  blues likewise.  John Fagey will certainly figure, but so will Zappa, Beefeater, and obscure SF bands hardly anyone has ever heard of and big ones that everybody has – the Dead especially. But likewise Sinatra, and Anne Briggs and so many more whose music is REAL.  This show is going to rock your Saturday night sideways!

THE EDGE CITY MUSIC HALL crew

Tom has been jocking for a long time - from AM land pirating in London in 1966 and beyond, 'award winning' student radio, preceded and followed by lengthy spells working free-form FM in the US, offshore pirating and then when he moved to Norwich he presented for Radio Broadland as their notional 'rock jock'. Now in 2021 he joins Brickies Radio and we are extremely excitied to have him on board.
